<h2>Overview</h2> <p>NaphCare is hiring a <strong>Medical Scheduler/Records</strong> <strong>Clerk</strong> to join our team of medical professionals at our Corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Al<strong> </strong>where we manage healthcare services for the residents in security federal correctional institutions..  This position <strong>will be remote,</strong> however candidates will need to be available to travel to the prison if needed for meetings. Candidates <strong>must live within a 1-hour commute of Birmingham.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>As a Correctional <strong>Medical Scheduler/Records</strong> <strong>Clerk</strong>, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide counseling and mental health care to schedule healthcare appointments for the inmates on and off-site. This is a unique and interesting position where security is paramount, and the days are never dull.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>The <strong>Medical Scheduler </strong>will schedule appointments and maintain the medical records for all BOP medical appointments on and off-site. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Scheduling various medical appointments, including on-site clinic visits and off-site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information</li> <li>Arranging transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Assist with reviewing medical records and authorization scenarios         </li> <li>Assist with maintaining a calendar and utilize technology to maximize efficiencies of the scheduling process</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Effectively communicating with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information</li> <li>Adhering to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong><u>Requirements / Qualifications:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Prior training in a medical office setting scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records, strongly preferred</li> <li>A working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience utilizing computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Suite</li> <li>Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Demonstrate skills in accuracy and multi-tasking with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer service throughout the scheduling and claims process</li> <li>Demonstrate a high comfort level in working with large volumes of data</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality when managing medical records, patient data and NaphCare processes</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements</li> <li>Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Why Join NaphCare?</strong></p> <p>NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
