$115k-$130k DOE and location. </b></i></p><p></p><p></p><p>Our Accounting Manager serves in a leadership role within the Accounting Department, responsible for overseeing complex accounting operations, ensuring GAAP‑compliant and timely financial reporting, and serving as a technical accounting authority for a portfolio of Transforming Age (TA) entities.</p><p></p><p><span>We are looking deep experience in U.S. GAAP, advanced research and documentation capabilities within the FASB Accounting Standards </span></p><p></p><p></p><p><b>Our Accounting Manager:</b></p><p></p><p></p><ul><li>Manages and oversee the full month‑end and year‑end close process for assigned Transforming Age (TA) entities, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP‑compliant financial reporting.</li><li>Serves as a senior technical accounting resource, performing research, interpretation, and application of U.S. GAAP within the FASB Accounting Standards Codification framework, and documenting conclusions for complex and non‑routine transactions.</li><li>Leads technical accounting analysis and accounting conclusions related to acquisitions, affiliations, restructurings, and other complex transactions, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheet establishment, consolidation considerations, and intercompany eliminations.</li><li>Prepares formal technical accounting memorandums supporting accounting conclusions for areas including revenue recognition, lease accounting, fixed assets and capitalization, impairments, contributions and donor‑restricted funds, and other significant or judgmental areas.</li><li>Owns the preparation, review, and monthly sign‑off of all balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring reconciliations are complete, accurate, properly supported, and maintained in an audit‑ready state.</li><li>Reviews and approves journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by staff, ensuring reconciling items are valid, timely resolved, and appropriately documented.</li><li>Ensures the integrity of balance sheet accounts and financial statements through ongoing review, analysis, and corrective action as needed.</li><li>Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages for the affiliates or entities under your management.</li><li>Partners closely with Financial Reporting, Tax & Compliance, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure accounting treatment aligns with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and GAAP.</li><li>Collaborates with external auditors by serving as a primary accounting contact, coordinating audit requests, providing support and documentation, and addressing audit questions and findings.</li><li>Develops, maintains, and enforces accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support accurate financial reporting and compliance.</li><li>Identifies and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, standardization, and scalability of accounting operations.</li><li>Acts as a key accounting stakeholder in system implementations and enhancements, including Workday Financials, ensuring accounting requirements are appropriately designed and executed.</li><li>Directly manages, coaches, and develops accounting staff, setting clear expectations for quality, accountability, and technical rigor.</li><li>Reviews staff work with a high degree of scrutiny, providing timely feedback and mentorship to elevate technical accounting skills and professional judgment.</li><li>Collaborates cross‑functionally to support new initiatives, contracts, projects, and organizational changes, providing accounting guidance and financial insight.</li><li>Serves as main contact for Executive Directors for the affiliates and entities under your management.</li><li>Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements with the assistance of your team members for all affiliates and entities under your management</li><li>Assists in other corporate functions such as intercompany transactions, investment accounting, Form 990 Tax Reporting, company projects, accounting research, etc.</li><li>Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required</li><li>Promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age and demonstrate commitment to the Culture of Excellence.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you need to succeed:</b></p><p></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting.</li><li>5+ years’ experience in accounting experience preferably in non-profit organization.</li><li>Active CPA license.</li><li>Public accounting experience preferred.</li><li>2+ years of people management or supervisory experience.</li><li>Experience in multi‑entity, regulated environments (senior living, healthcare, nonprofit, real estate preferred).</li><li>Experience supporting external audits and complex accounting reviews.</li><li>Strong knowledge of financial principles, GAAP, and month-end close</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders</li><li>Proficient in using financial software and systems including advanced knowledge of MS Excel</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
