<u style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><strong>Career Opportunity</strong></u><strong>: </strong> <br>The City of Las Vegas Youth Development and Social Initiatives is currently accepting applications for the position of <strong>Assistant</strong>. This is an Hourly position in the Youth Development and Social Initiatives department.<br><br><strong><u>Supervision Received</u></strong><br>Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.<br><strong>The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings. </strong><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" id="isPasted"><li>Provides general assistance to facility staff including all full-time employees, senior or lead hourly staff and program/class instructors. Duties include, but are not limited to, set-up and tear-down of events/programming, general clerical duties, and cleaning of areas within the facility or around the perimeter of the facility.</li></ul><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Perform administrative duties including data collection and data entry, document preparation and maintaining records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.</li><li>Customer service duties which include, but are not limited to, interacting with customers/participants in-person or over the phone and distributing promotional materials such as flyers and brochures.</li><li>Monitoring duties which include, but are not limited to, monitoring or reporting inappropriate behavior of participants to full-time staff, inspecting the facility for safety concerns and reporting any concerns to full-time staff, reporting any accidents, incidents or injuries to full-time staff, and ensuring safe/proper use of facility equipment.</li></ul><p>$18 an hour, 19 Hours per week.</p><p id="isPasted">Minimum 18 years of age.</p><p>High School Diploma.</p><p>Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.</p><p>Minimum of 2 years clerical experience preferred.</p><p>Ability to perform under the lowest level of supervision.</p><p>Employer</p>Transportation of program participants may be required.<br><p><br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;" id="isPasted"><u>Licenses and Certifications</u></strong></p><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;" id="isPasted">Possession of Child & Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is required within 90 days of date of hire, and maintenance thereafter. </span><strong><u>Competencies:</u></strong><p><u>Core Workforce Competencies</u></p><p>Professionalism – Demonstrates core values by being honest, respectful and positive.</p><p>Effective Communication – Expresses verbal and written thought in a clear and understandable manner.</p><p>Customer Focus – Demonstrates genuine concern and satisfies external and/or internal customers based on the CLV core purpose and values.</p><p>Adaptability – Able to effectively modify behavior to suit changing workforce demands.</p><p>Problem Solving – Solves problems by considering all causes, solutions and outcomes.</p><p>Productive Partnerships – Develops, maintains and strengthens partnerships with others.</p><p>Technical and Safety Expertise – Possesses a depth of knowledge, skill and ability in a technical (job) area.</p><br><p><strong><span style="color: inherit;"><strong><u>SELECTION PR</u></strong></span></strong><strong><span style="color: inherit;"><strong><u>OC</u></strong></span></strong><strong><span style="color: inherit;"><strong><u>ESS</u>:</strong></span></strong><span style="color: inherit;"> Final candidate selection may include hiring interview (if applicable).
